Candle Lake - Camping

August 15th to 24th, we went camping at Candle Lake... we only really had two nice afternoons (weatherwise), so hung out at the cabin lots and also took a drive to Waskesiu

Adventures at camp

July 28th to August 6th, we went to a nearby church family camp. The boys had a blast and on the day before we went home, they announced that they wanted to stay for 11 more days! The weather was super hot and going to the beach in the afternoon was a welcomed treat - except when the pesky flies wouldn't leave us alone! Very maddening!

Calaway Park

On Sunday, we went to Calaway Park - it's first weekend of being open this year! Jason and Maria had free guest passes, so that was a HUGE bonus, since it's not really a cheap place to go! We rode some cars, boats, planes, swings, kiddie roller coasters (while Maria and Miles rode the big roller-coaster), went in the ball-pit and played a few games...

Miles and Ethan on the dreaded swing! What you do for your kids eh? (he was begging for gravol and advil later!)

The kids with their winnings... star glasses and colourful fish!

The Cochrane Children's Festival

On Saturday we went to the Cochrane Children's Festival where the kids got t-shirts, there were some great performers/musicians on the stage, face painting, a bouncy thing, food and misc activities!!! Other than the rain... it was a fun place to be!

Ethan's Spider Man face

Jackson and friend, Sadie, hammer away!

Ethan also does some hammering...

Liam got his face painted too but it was instantly smudged when he went after a mosquito!

Liam at the bubble station - mucking in water is always fun!

Calgary Zoo

We went to the Calgary Zoo on Friday, May 18th, with our friend Rania...

Happy Thursday

Well today we had a fun-filled, adventurous day! We met Auntie Marit mid-morning and headed to McDonald's for an early lunch. The boys played, until Uncle Glenn called, saying it was a good time to come to the firehall. After touring the firehall, we went to Beacon Hill Park, where we enjoyed the playground and then the petting farm. We then, of course, had to walk to the Beacon Drive-In for ice cream!!! So... to share our fun and show just a fraction of the pictures that I took today, I've created a few "photobuckets" - ENJOY!

goats, goats and more goats...

What could be more fun than watching kids... and lots of them! The Beacon Hill Petting Farm has an abundance of new baby goats & we stopped in to see them today (after the firehall). These little frisky kids climbed on us, untied shoes, let the boys brush them & they definitely love to play! As Ethan said, "they were so cute! they were adorable!"

Firehall Fun!

Uncle Glenn gave us a tour of the firehall today. What little boy wouldn't be impressed eh? They got to climb on trucks, turn on lights, push buttons, ask questions - you name it! Uncle Glenn is the resident mechanic.... thanks for the tour!

Cruising...

Auntie Marit came over for a visit today & when she was leaving, she took the boys for a quick ride around the driveway! They were very impressed with the convertible and of course didn't want the ride to end!

Butchart Gardens

On Monday, we went to Butchart Gardens with our friends, Bob & Dianne. After lunch, we ventured through the gardens "on a mission" - the kids were handed a map and throughout the gardens were ten white ceramic bunnies with ribbons around their necks. When you found one, you marked the map and at the end you could hand in the map for an Easter treat! I think the adults (especially Bob) had as much fun as the kids and were determined not to leave without finding the last bunny! We almost thought we had to go through the WHOLE garden again but then decided to check the exit first! Good plan! It did rain off & on but not enough to dampen our fun...

Easter

On Easter Sunday, we went to church with mom & dad. It was fun to see friends that I grew up with & did some visiting in the nursery! Since, for obvious reasons, I can't buy girly Easter dresses, I usually like to buy the boys each a new Easter shirt... in my opinion, they were looking pretty handsome!

After lunch, we went to visit Granny (my dad's mom) and it wasn't such a great visit since Liam threw a hollow plastic toy orange at her head & she was very unimpressed (but un-harmed)... it was good to see her nonetheless! After that we went to see my grandpa (my mom's dad) at his nursing home and had a much better visit! He entertained the boys with chocolate, let them play with his tv headphones and just teased and enjoyed them in general. He seems to have adjusted to his new surroundings and he was looking well, so that was good to see!

He gave the boys all chocolate and wanted me to wheel Liam's stroller closer, so he could see his messy face!

Good Friday

On Friday we had a great sunny day! No rain!!! The boys had fun playing with their cousins & later on in the day, Sarah and I (the mommy bunnies) hid Easter eggs all through the trees for an egg hunt!
